FILM PRODUCTION PROGRAM
The Film Production Program immerses the student in the techniques of professional filmmaking through a progressively advanced film project while exploring Jewish identity. Student groups write, film, act, produce, direct and shoot a video film project. They support each other as a crew and edit on state-of-the-art professional digital programs.
The class works in small production groups with a rotating responsibility system in order to complete the project. Students learn camera operation and lens selection, how to write a screenplay, lighting techniques, editing systems, audio and music engineering, and set design.
This month long all-day intensive program is conducted in a studio facility with industry-standard equipment. It culminates in a premiere screening of the students’ film at a professional screening room. Mosaic student films have been screened at Harvestworks Digital Media Arts Center, MAKOR/Steinhardt Center of the 92nd Street Y, and the Tribeca Grand Hotel screening room.
